"Every athlete has the talent.
Not every athlete knows how to unlock it." — Coach Al · 20 years on the track

Most coaching focuses on what happens on the track — the drills, the splits, the sets. But after two decades working with athletes at every level, I've seen the same pattern again and again.

The athletes who break through aren't always the most physically gifted. They're the ones who've learned to master the space between their ears — and who've had someone in their corner who actually understands how to coach it.

Power2ADAPT exists to be that corner. Whether you're a junior chasing a school PB or a senior club athlete chasing a state qualifier, we'll meet you where you are and build the path from there.

— Coach Al.

Australian Athletics Level 4 High Performance Coach BSc Sports Coaching (HD) 20+ years coaching 400m Hurdles background

I discovered athletics at eight years old and never looked back. My competitive background is the 400m hurdles — a discipline that teaches you very quickly that technique and mental toughness matter as much as raw speed.

Two decades coaching at club and school level — including Haileybury, Peninsula Grammar, Toorak College and Frankston Athletic Club — gave me a single conviction: every athlete already has it. The job of a great coach is to help them find it.

Power2ADAPT is how I do that work. One athlete at a time, in person on the Peninsula or online wherever you are.

In their words.

"
Al doesn't just coach the sprint — he coaches the athlete. The mindset work changed how I show up to every session.

After years of plateauing, the eight‑week program gave me real structure. I finally felt like I had a plan rather than just turning up to training.

As a parent it's hard to know how to help. Al gave us a framework so we could actually support our daughter without overcoaching.

Common questions

Before you book.

If your question isn't here, mention it on the call — we cover whatever you bring.

It's a relaxed Zoom or phone call. We talk through where you are (training, goals, what's working and what isn't), where you'd like to be, and whether 1:1 coaching is the right next step. No pitch, no pressure — if it's not the right fit I'll tell you and point you somewhere that is.

Both. On‑track sessions run on the Mornington Peninsula (Frankston and surrounds). Online sessions cover technique review via video, programming, and the mindset side of the work. Most program athletes mix the two.

An individualised eight‑week training block, weekly 1:1 check‑ins, video technique reviews, the full mindset toolkit and journal, and access to the Power2ADAPT Speed Assessment app for performance tracking. Your first $90 session is credited toward the program if you continue after the discovery call.

The youngest athletes on the program tend to be around 12. Younger than that and we'll usually focus on the parent/coach side of things — supporting the people supporting the athlete, rather than full 1:1 work with the child.

The mindset frameworks, goal‑setting and habits work for any sport. The technical sprint coaching is sport‑specific. If you're a multi‑sport athlete or doing something further afield (rowing, swimming, team sports), the mental performance side of the program is still a strong fit — that's a great topic for the call.

Yes — drop your email and we'll send the full PDF immediately. You'll also get occasional emails from Power2ADAPT (training notes, programs, the odd announcement). Unsubscribe in one click whenever you like.

The next step

Book the call.
Change the season.

Twenty minutes to talk training, goals and whether 1:1 coaching is the right next move. No pitch, no pressure — and the first session is credited toward your program if you continue.
